Unloop Terms of Use
Last updated: 31 August 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Unloop website, application and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
The Service is provided by Unloop Technologies Ltd (“Unloop”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company incorporated in England and Wales.
By creating an account, accessing or using Unloop, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Service.
1. About Unloop
Unloop is a digital self-help companion designed to help adults learn about OCD and practise skills informed by Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and behavioural aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
The Service may include:
Educational lessons about OCD, ERP and ACT
Exposure planning and practice tools
An ERP journal
Exposure and progress tracking
In-exposure guidance
An AI Companion
Audio exercises and guidance
Personalised content and recommendations
Practice reminders and notifications
Unloop is designed to support learning and self-directed practice. It is not intended to provide medical diagnosis, emergency care or a substitute for professional mental-health treatment.
2. Not Medical or Professional Advice
Unloop is not a therapist, doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, crisis service or other healthcare professional.
The information and tools provided through Unloop are for educational and self-help purposes only.
Unloop does not:
Diagnose OCD or any other mental-health condition
Provide a medical diagnosis
Provide personalised medical advice
Replace assessment or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional
Guarantee any particular treatment outcome
Determine whether a particular exposure is clinically appropriate for you
Provide emergency or crisis intervention
If you are receiving treatment from a healthcare professional, you should follow their advice regarding your treatment.
If you are unsure whether a particular exercise or exposure is appropriate for you, seek advice from a suitably qualified professional.
3. ERP and Exposure Exercises
Unloop provides tools intended to support ERP practice.
Exposure exercises can involve deliberately encountering thoughts, situations, sensations or uncertainties that cause distress while reducing or preventing compulsive responses.
ERP can be challenging and may temporarily increase distress.
You are responsible for deciding whether and how you use the exercises provided through Unloop.
Unloop does not guarantee that any particular exposure will be appropriate, effective or suitable for your individual circumstances.
Where appropriate, we recommend working with a qualified professional experienced in treating OCD with ERP.
4. AI Companion
Unloop may provide an AI-powered Companion designed to reinforce ERP- and ACT-informed skills.
The AI Companion is not a therapist or healthcare professional.
AI-generated responses:
May contain errors or inaccuracies
Are not medical advice
Are not a diagnosis
Are not a substitute for professional treatment
Should not be relied upon to make medical or safety-critical decisions
The AI Companion is designed to avoid reassurance and certainty-seeking and to encourage users to respond differently to OCD-related thoughts and urges.
However, we cannot guarantee that every AI-generated response will always be appropriate or accurate.
You should not use the AI Companion as your sole source of support during a mental-health crisis.
5. Crisis and Emergency Situations
Unloop is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you are experiencing an immediate risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or believe you are in an emergency situation, stop using Unloop and contact your local emergency service or an appropriate crisis service.
Do not rely on the Unloop AI Companion, journal, audio exercises or other features for emergency assistance.
Unloop may provide information directing users towards appropriate crisis resources, but these resources do not constitute crisis intervention provided by Unloop.
6. Your Account
Some features require you to create an account.
You agree to:
Provide accurate information when creating your account
Keep your login credentials confidential
Take reasonable steps to protect your account
Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless the activity resulted from circumstances outside your reasonable control.
You must not use another person’s account without their permission.
7. Your Content
You may enter information into Unloop, including journal entries, exposure information, reflections, messages and other content (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of your User Content.
By using the Service, you grant Unloop the limited rights necessary to store, process and display your User Content solely to provide and operate the Service and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We will not claim ownership of your journal entries, reflections or other personal content.
You should avoid entering information that is unnecessary for using the Service.
8. Health and Personal Information
Unloop may process information relating to your mental health, OCD symptoms, exposure practice and related experiences.
Information concerning a person’s physical or mental health can constitute special-category data under UK data-protection law and receives additional protection.
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains:
What information we collect
Why we collect it
How we use it
Where it is stored
Which third parties may process it
How long it is retained
Your data-protection rights

You should read the Privacy Policy before using Unloop.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

11. AI-Generated Content
Because parts of Unloop may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence, responses may vary and may not always be correct, complete or suitable for your circumstances.
AI-generated information should therefore be treated as general guidance rather than professional advice.
You should not rely on an AI-generated response to:
Make medical decisions

Determine whether you are at risk
Decide whether you are in an emergency
Determine whether a particular exposure is medically or clinically appropriate
12. Educational Content
Unloop may provide educational information about OCD, ERP, ACT and related topics.
We aim to provide useful and evidence-informed information, but medical and psychological knowledge can change over time.
We do not guarantee that all educational content will always be complete, current or applicable to every individual.

If you choose to enable practice reminders, Unloop may send notifications according to the preferences you select.
Reminders are optional and are intended to encourage practice.
They are not:
Medical instructions

You may disable reminders through the relevant settings or your device’s notification settings.
14. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service, including its software, design, branding, graphics, text, lessons, audio content and other materials, belong to Unloop or our licensors unless otherwise stated.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, license or commercially exploit Unloop’s content without our prior written permission.
15. Third-Party Services
Unloop may rely on third-party services to operate certain features, including hosting, authentication, artificial intelligence, communications, analytics and other technical services.
These services may process information on our behalf in accordance with applicable agreements and our Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the independent operation or policies of third-party services outside our reasonable control.
16. Availability of the Service
We aim to keep Unloop available and functioning reliably, but we do not guarantee that the Service will:
Always be available
Be uninterrupted
Be free from errors
Be compatible with every device
Always retain every feature
We may modify, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, legal or technical reasons.
17. Updates
We may release updates to Unloop from time to time.
Updates may include:
New features
Security improvements
Bug fixes
Changes to existing functionality
Changes required by operating-system or platform requirements
You may need to install updates to continue using certain features.
18. Fees and Subscriptions
If Unloop offers paid subscriptions or other paid features, the applicable price, billing period and renewal terms will be presented to you before purchase.
Where purchases are made through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, payment and subscription management may also be subject to the applicable platform’s terms and policies.
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Cancellation and Refunds
You may stop using Unloop at any time.
If you purchase a subscription through a third-party app store, cancellation and refund procedures may be governed by that platform’s applicable rules.
Where UK consumer law provides you with rights relating to digital content or services, those rights are not excluded by these Terms. UK consumer law provides specific protections relating to digital content and services and unfair contractual terms.

We may suspend or terminate access to an account where reasonably necessary, including where:
These Terms are seriously or repeatedly breached
The account is being used unlawfully
The Service is being abused
Suspension is necessary to protect users or the security of the Service
We are required to do so by law
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before terminating access unless immediate action is necessary.

We do not guarantee that using Unloop will:
Reduce OCD symptoms
Reduce anxiety
Eliminate intrusive thoughts
Eliminate compulsions
Produce a particular therapeutic outcome
Replace professional treatment
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Unloop will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Where you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict your statutory rights.
